hub night - let us play

I can't believe that I never posted after the first Hub night, D'oh. Well it finally happend (back in October last year) and actual people that I didn't know turned up,I was very pleased with the turn out and somebody even wrote a nice review about the night, you can read about it here a much better review that I could manage, thank you Kate. Here is a picture of the hub team together with the guest speakers for the night, discussing the merits of our lovely little tubs of play doh. Many thanks to everyone who attended and thank you to Caroline for the photographs.

Things that make you go...

Every now and then I happen upon some thing that really grabs my interest, and leaves me staring slack jawed in amazement. One such thing I came across on TV last night was Skywood house. The home of fosters and partners CEO Graham Philips, it was at once familiar and at the same time entirely new. One of those exceptional pieces of architecture that become a such a cliched backdrop for film and television, commercials and music promos that you forget that it could possibly be someones house. However this programme revealed so much of the obsessive detail that underpinned the design of the space that it left me spellbound.

Happy New Year

Here we are, the first post of the year. Apologies for the patchy communications of the last couple of months, back with a bang. Christmas is but a memory and the new years eve hangover has cleared, thoughts now turn to what the year ahead will bring (or what we could bring to the year ahead)
This is traditionally a time of bold promises and good intentions, which generally speaking will fall in to two categories: the MORE resolutions and the LESS . Why don't we stop thinking out of guilt and look at the possibilities open to us, not for resolution but revolution. Now I'm not proposing that any one go out and overthow a government (its not that sort of blog) but more that we all take on something new this year, something that will get out creative juices flowing.
